Event Details:A picture is worth a thousand words. Good photographs can lend a helping hand to numerous projects; they strengthen publicity for a fundraiser, make a newsletter more appealing and reveal the beauty of wetlands to elementary students. To recognize individuals who use this tool effectively and creatively, the Winnebago County Soil and Water Conservation District (SWCD) is sponsoring a photo contest.
The Photo Contest is open to individuals who reside in Winnebago County in Grades 5 through 12 and adult amateurs. An amatuer is defined as one whose majority of income does not come from photography. The Photo Contest has four categories: conservation practices, close-up conservation, conservation in action and agriculture/conservation across America. An individual may enter up to two photos in each of the three dividions including grades 5-8, 9-12 and adult amateur. The Winnebago County SWCD will select one photo from each division as a winner for that division and an overall grand prize winner.
Submitted photos will be displayed at the SWCD Annual Meeting on January 29th, 2010. The winners from each division will be givin two tickets to attend the SWCD Annual Meeting will they will be awarded.
