Event Details:(Rockford, IL) River Valley Community Church will celebrate their 20thanniversary with a free evening of entertainment for the community on November 7th. Music, magic, and memories will fill this family-friendly event.
River Valley will commemorate its musical legacy with special guest, Lucrezio. Lucrezio is a Chicago-based band that recently won its category at Lifefest 2009, a Christian music festival and competition. They have opened for such big names as Barlow Girl, Mark Shultz, Sevenglory, 33 Miles and John Ruben. Lucrezio is known for its female-fronted, alternative, yet, soulful, sound of original compositions. Lucrezio takes the stage at 8:45 p.m., and their self-titled EP will be available.
Opening for Lucrezio will be River Valley’s previous and present house band. Former Programming Director, Mark Reed, will perform music through the ages with a few former band members and singers. This musical journey will culminate with today’s River Valley band.
“A part of River Valley Community Church’s success over the past 20 years has been our outrageous musical talent and creativity. We are grateful to spotlight that on this special night,” said Dr. Rodney Combs, Senior Pastor at River Valley Community Church. But, the celebration isn’t all musical entertainment.
The show begins at 6:30 p.m. with the Maestros of Magic. This phenomenal act from the Chicago area has over 30 years of experience in the entertainment industry. They will perform mind-blowing illusion, close-up magic, and hilarious ventriloquism, entertaining children and adults.
Doors open at 6:00 p.m., November 7th, at River Valley Community Church, located at 5439 E. State Street, Rockford, behind the Guitar Center. Dessert and refreshments will be served. For more information, see www.rivervalleyevents.net.
