Monday, Sep 28, 2009 @04:55pm CDT (Beason) -- Even as they sift through hundreds of tips, investigators looking into the slaying of a central Illinois family continue to focus one piece of evidence.
Police want to know more about a unique pickup truck, and want anyone who may have seen the truck to call them. Officers investigation the brutal murders of the Gee family in Beason Illinois say a truck seen near the family's home caught a neighbor's attention. The "Bloomington Pantagraph" has artist renderings of a pair of gray pickups with exhaust pipes that stick straight-up from the bed of the truck, behind the rear wheels. The pickup is described as a late 80's or early 90's Chevy S10 or Ford Ranger. Police say the primer-gray paint job and vertical exhaust system makes the truck very unique. Investigators hope the truck will lead them to a suspect. It is one of the few pieces of evidence police are discussing. They have not said much else about the brutal killings of five members of the Gee family, a three year old girl is still hospitalized as the only survivor. Police say anyone with any information should call the local CrimeStoppers office or the Illinois State Police.
