Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @04:00pm CST (Rockford) -- Illinois Senator Dave Syverson (R) has sent a letter to Donald Trump regarding former governor Rod Blagojevich's upcoming appearance on Trump's television program, Celebrity Apprentice.
"To Hollywood, Rod Blagojevich might be a harmless joke, but to Illinoisians he's no laughing matter," the letter reads. "Putting him on The Apprentice gives him a national megaphone not only to influence potential jurors, but to defend his horrible record as governor that contributed to the economic and budgetary collapse Illinois faces today." "Illinois lawmakers already told Blagojevich 'You're fired'. He doesn't need to hear it again from Donald Trump," Syverson continued. Syverson plans to file a resolution with the Senate to urge Trump to kick Blagojevich off the show. A federal judge already signed off on allowing Blagojevich to participate in the program, which also stars Cyndi Lauper, Brett Michaels, Sharon Osbourne, Darryl Strawberry and Sinbad. |
