(Mount Pulaski) -- A 97-year-old man died when his car got caught in floodwaters in Logan County.

Authorities say Cecil McCain was found floating in nearly five-feet of water about 200 yards from his car.

He was airlifted to a hospital in Springfield where he was pronounced dead.

The Sangamon County Coroner's Office says McCain drowned.

Central Illinois has been dealing with heavy rains and forecasters say that's caused high water in a number of places.

There are still some flood warnings in central and western Illinois.
