(Edgewater, CO) -- Authorities in Colorado say a 29-year-old man stabbed himself in the leg so he could avoid going to work.

Aaron Siebers faces misdemeanor charges for telling Edgewater police he'd been stabbed by three people Monday night near a Target store.

Police spokesperson Officer Steve Davis says Target's security footage instead showed Siebers walking just fine behind the store.

Siebers apparently stabbed himself at home before coming to work.

He remains jailed.
