Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @02:12pm CST (Chipley, FL) -- Two months before a seven-month-old Chipley, Florida infant was reported missing, the child's babysitter e-mailed Governor Charlie Crist, urging him to quote, "please, please save that child." In an interview with the "Panama City New Herald," babysitter Susan Baker said that weeks before Shannon Dedrick's disappearance last weekend, the girl's mother said she wished her daughter "would disappear." The e-mail to the governor obtained by the newspaper detailed the infant parents' alleged drug abuse and said that the child was not getting the help she urgently needed.
The Department of Children and Families is revisiting the case to see if any danger signs were missed.
