Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @04:26pm CST (Cleveland, OH) -- The coroner of Cuyahoga County, Ohio has provided new insight into the deaths of eleven people at a Cleveland home.
Dr. Frank Miller says investigators have discovered six bodies in the home of Anthony Sowell and five have been recovered from the yard. All of the bodies are those of African-American women. The first DNA-based identification was made today but a name won't be released until the woman's family has been notified. The coroner issued a plea to relatives of missing persons in the Cleveland area saying reference samples are needed for DNA identifications. He says so far his office has only received five DNA samples from close relatives. The coroner says he hopes to eventually be able to identify all of the dead. Anthony Sowell is the only suspect in connection with the mass murders. He was arraigned today on five counts of aggravated murder. During the court session a judge said the charges faced by Sowell are some of the most serious allegations he'd ever seen.
