Thursday, Nov 5, 2009 @10:09am CST (Riyadh) -- Saudi Arabia is hitting back hard after rebels in northern Yemen raided its territory.
The kingdom launched air strikes on the rebels and is moving troops closer to the Saudi Arabia-Yemen border. Saudi officials say Yemeni rebels seized a border area inside the kingdom, but that area has been recaptured and 40 rebels have been killed. One Saudi adviser said the bombardment on Yemeni positions has been very heavy. One rebel spokesman told Al Jazeera television that one position had been hit by about 100 missiles in just an hour.
