Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @08:49am CST (Peoria) -- The Peoria City/County Health Department is now reporting the first death in the county related to H1N1.
Officials say the 46-year-old woman died Monday after being admitted into a local hospital October 16th. They indicated the woman did have multiple underlying conditions. Health officials say with influenza type illness on the rise people should remember to follow the three C's. They are cleaning hands frequently, covering your nose and mouth when coughing and containing the flu by staying home if sick. Anyone experiencing flu-like symptoms who have underlying medical conditions is urged to consult their physician. Those most susceptible to the H1N1 virus remain pregnant woman, children and adults up to 24-years-old and those 25 to 64 with underlying conditions.
