Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @08:51am CST (Ottawa) -- An Ottawa woman is back on track for trial in December in her ongoing murder for hire case.
Twenty-eight-year-old Christina Dent was in court Thursday to have a hearing on a motion for affirmative defense. That means she was going to try to present a valid reason for trying to hire someone to kill her husband. Instead, the motion was dropped and Judge Cynthia Raccuglia confirmed Dent's trial date of December 7th. Dent is facing up to 40 years in prison and is being held on 300-thousand dollars bond on a murder for hire charge. She was allegedly caught in June trying to give a down payment to an undercover Joliet police officer posing as a hitman. Dent is also in the process of divorcing her husband.
