Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @01:04pm CST (Orlando, FL) -- The gunman responsible for this morning's office shooting in downtown Orlando has been identified as 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez.
A police spokeswoman says Rodriguez was a former employee at the Smith, Reynolds & Hills Company located in the downtown tower. Witnesses say he went into the Gateway Center building at One Legions Place in downtown Orlando and opened fire on the eighth floor. Another victim was found on the 12th floor. In all, eight people were taken to the hospital with critical injuries and there are reports of as many as two fatalities. The gunman is not in custody and is believed to be driving a silver Nissan SUV with the Florida tag D119-UX. Police consider Rodriguez armed and very dangerous.
