Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @02:15pm CST (Orlando, FL) -- The man accused of shooting six people at a downtown Orlando office tower this morning spoke briefly to reporters as he was being escorted to jail.
When asked why he committed the shooting, 40-year-old Jason Rodriguez says it was because, quote, "they left me to rot." He repeated the phrase several times before he was brought inside the jail for processing. Rodriguez allegedly shot and killed one person and injured five more. A fire-rescue spokesman says those five victims are listed in stable condition. The shooting occurred at the architectural and engineering firm that fired Rodriguez back in June of 2007. He was found just a few hours after the shooting at his mother's Orlando apartment where he surrendered to police without incident.
