(Andrews Air Force Base, MD) -- Israel's prime minister has ended a low-key visit to the U.S. Benjamin Netanyahu spoke confidently at the end of the trip, saying he thinks talks with the White House will help promote peace and bring security to Israel.
Addressing a conference of American Jewish leaders Monday, Netanyahu said, quote, "my goal is not negotiations for the sake of negotiations," adding, "my goal is to achieve a permanent peace treaty between Israel and the Palestinians -- and soon." The prime minister met Monday with President Obama.
He described their discussion as very focused and very positive, noting it touched on a wide range of topics connected to peace and security.
