Monday, Nov 16, 2009 @02:21pm CST (Washington, DC) -- Republicans are continuing their assault on Attorney General Eric Holder's decision to try 9-11 terror suspects in New York City.
Texas Republican Senator John Cornyn called it a "terrible decision." He called it an "ill-advised" decision that will make the nation a "more dangerous place." Friday, Holder announced accused 9-11 mastermind Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and four others will be tried in a federal court in New York. They'll be moved from the U.S.-Guantanamo Bay terror detention facility in Cuba. Cornyn said it will give Mohammed a platform to spew a hate-filled ideology on a public stage. In earlier remarks, Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano defended the decision to try the terror suspects in New York. She said U.S. prisons currently house some of the most dangerous criminals in the world "safely and securely."
