Tuesday, Nov 17, 2009 @03:08pm CST (Los Angeles, CA) -- "American Idol" host Ryan Seacrest has received some court ordered protection from the man accused of stalking him.
E! News reports that Seacrest was granted a permanent restraining order against Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr. The order prevents the 25-year-old from coming within 500 yards of Seacrest, his home, his car and all of his places of business for the next three years. Uzomah will also have to refrain from having any direct or indirect contact with the E! News anchor. Last September, Uzomah was arrested after he attacked a member of Seacrest's security team. He pled guilty to misdemeanor assault and battery, and possession of a switchblade. He was sentenced to 15 days in jail and three years of probation. Chidi Benjamin Uzomah Jr. was also arrested late last month when he allegedly showed up at the E! studios with a three-inch knife. He has since pled not guilty to felony stalking charges and remains in custody on 150-thousand-dollars bail. Uzomah faces up to four year behind bars if convicted.
