Wednesday, Nov 18, 2009 @09:40am CST (West Bend, WI) -- More details emerged Tuesday in the case of a Wisconsin man accused of killing his teenage stepson Sunday in a minvan parked at a Germantown Walmart.
A criminal complaint says 37-year-old Charles Avey strangled 14-year-old Cody Reetz with a necktie as payback for the boy's mother telling police Avey beat her with a hammer. Police say Avey used a second necktie to tie Reetz to the armrest of the minivan and hid Reetz's body under clothing and a backpack. Avey made his first court appearance Tuesday as relatives of the Grafton teen cried while listening to the charges.
