Rockford, IL – The No Idle Zone Initiative is pleased to announce Green Night with the IceHogs.  This event will take place on Friday, November 20 when the Rockford IceHogs play the Chicago Wolves at 7:05 pm.

The evening will feature the following:

·        The Rockford IceHogs dressed in one-of-a-kind green jerseys and socks.

·        Raffle:  Each official green IceHogs jersey will be given away in a chance raffle.  Tickets are $5 per ticket or 5 for $20.  Participants may purchase as many tickets as they want and put their ticket in a drawing for the IceHogs jersey of their choice.

·        Tickets may be purchased during the first and second period of the game.  The drawing for each jersey will take place during the third period.

·        Each IceHogs will personally autograph their own jersey and raffle winners will be awarded those jersey at the completion of the game.

·        Free Short Sleeve Replica Jersey T-Shirts given to the first 2,000 people.

·        Green Expo on the concourse level with displays from local green businesses including Winnebago County, the Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, Green Communities Coalition, Washington Gifted Academy, Barbara Olson Center of Hope, Freedom Field, Magnum Creative and The Morrissey Family Businesses. 

The No Idle Zone is a local, grassroots collaborative effort aimed at promoting the message that un-necessary idling of a vehicle wastes gas, costs money, and pollutes the air.  The initiative kicked-off in February of this year and was met with great success.  Both the city of Rockford and School District 205 proclaimed themselves “No Idle Zones” and Rockford was recognized as the first No Idle Zone city in the state of Illinois.  The Community Foundation of Northern Illinois, William Charles Energy, Winnebago County and Bergstrom Charitable Foundation both supported the No Idle Zone with grants totaling $9,000.

Friday’s event with the IceHogs is a way to promote the No Idle Zone movement on a county- wide basis and draw attention to the importance of the message for all citizens.
