Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 @08:50am CST (Seoul) -- A day after Iran rejected a proposal to export its enriched uranium, President Obama warned Iran of consequences by not responding to nuclear deals it's been offered.
Obama said world powers were "within weeks" of presenting the Islamic Republic with possible sanctions. He added that Iran would not be given unlimited time to come clean with its nuclear program. On Wednesday, Iran rejected the idea of sending 75-percent of its low-enriched uranium to France and Russia to be converted into fuel that could only be used for medical purposes. In response to Obama's comments, Iranian president Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said the West was, quote, "continuing their past domineering and hostile policies" and that his government would be more welcoming to Western powers if they changed their policies.
