Thursday, Nov 19, 2009 @08:51am CST (Boston, MA) -- The 27-year-old Massachusetts man arrested last month for his alleged role in a terror plot will remain in custody pending his trial.
Tarek Mehanna is accused of planning to kill high profile politicians, government officials and people at shopping malls. A federal magistrate rejected a request yesterday that Mehanna be confined to his home with no Internet access. The judge ruled that based on the evidence, Mehanna is a flight risk and a danger to the community. His family insists Mehanna, who has pleaded not guilty, is incapable of committing the crimes for which he has been charged.
