Monday, Nov 23, 2009 @09:45am CST (Oxford, MS) -- The Ku Klux Klan made an unexpected appearance at the University of Mississippi campus Saturday.
About ten hooded clan members showed up at the Ole Miss-Louisiana State football game to protest Ole Miss Chancellor Dan Jones' decision to ban the band from playing the school's fight song, "From Dixie with Love." The Klan members were greeted by about 200 students who had the phrase "turn your back on hate" written on the backs of their shirts. The students recited the Ole Miss creed while showing the message to Klansmen. The KKK protest fizzled quickly and the Klan members disbanded after about ten minutes.
