Seventeen of District 205's 52 schools failed to meet Adequate Yearly Progress for the last two years.
The district went over those schools at tonight's school board meeting.
As part of the federal guidelines, each of the 17 schools now has to submit a school improvement plan to the district and the Illinois Board of Education.

Those Schools are:
Barbour Language Academy, East High School, Ellis Arts Academy, Flinn Middle School, Hillman School, Jackson School, Jefferson High School, Kishwaukee School, Lathrop School, Lewis Lemon School, Lincoln Middle School, Marsh School, McIntosh School, Nelson School, Riverdahl School, Stiles School, Summerdale School.

Schools are required to meet AYP under the "No Child Left Behind Act."
