Wednesday, Nov 25, 2009 @09:53am CST (Stamford, CT) -- A gym in Stamford, Connecticut is refusing to refund the membership dues of a man who was murdered two years ago.
Patricia Rowell says her son Gregory was killed in December of 2007 and that she closed his bank account shortly thereafter. Rowell says her son had a different account she was unaware of, and that the Planet Fitness gym was regularly withdrawing roughly 15 dollars a month for Gregory Rowell's membership even after his death. Patricia Rowell says when she alerted the gym to the issue, they initially offered to refund the money, but quickly reneged when they calculated that they would have to refund over 400 dollars. Rowell says a Planet Fitness manager told her it was her fault for not alerting them to her son's death and offered her a six-month free gym membership.
