Monday, Nov 30, 2009 @01:41pm CST (Washington, DC) -- Congress is wasting no time trying to get to the bottom of a serious security breach during a White House state dinner last week.
House Committee on Homeland Security chair, Congressman Bennie Thompson, has announced a hearing will be held this Thursday. Among those likely to be invited to testify at the hearing are Tareq and Michaele Salahi. The couple managed to gain entry to the bash hosted by the President and First Lady of the United States even though they didn't have an invitation. During his daily press briefing Monday, White House press secretary Robert Gibbs said President Obama "shares the concern" of Secret Service Director Mark Sullivan for how the situation happened and how it can be prevented. Sullivan will also be grilled in the hearing, as he is directly responsible for the people being protected by the Secret Service.
