Kimberly Nelson joined the WTVO News Team in February 2006. She came to Rockford from San Diego where she was an associate producer for NBC 7/39. Prior to that Kimberly was a news writer at KUSI-TV in San Diego. Although used to warm weather, Kimberly doesn’t mind chilly temperatures and looks forward to the changing of seasons. It was her uncle’s family that convinced Kimberly to make the switch from the West Coast to the Midwest. Her relatives have lived in Rockford for 15 years and say although they miss the surf in California, they would never go back. Kimberly received her Bachelor’s of Science in Journalism from San Diego State University, where she graduated with honors. She also spent a year at Uppsala University in Sweden studying International Communications. During her time in San Diego, Kimberly joined the Delta Gamma sorority and was involved in a number of philanthropic organizations, namely Service for Sight. In her free time, Kimberly enjoys reading a good book, getting outdoors, singing and swimming. An avid traveler, Kimberly can’t wait for her next trip back to Europe. Click here to email Kimberly! |
