Monday, Apr 20, 2009 @09:48am CDT Rockford police are investigating an apparent shooting at Auburn High School.
At approximately 9 a.m. a student was shot in the leg outside Auburn High School's Freshman Campus. The injuries are not believed to be serious. Police are still searching for a suspect. The Rockford Public School District has released a statement confirming that the victim is a 9th grade student and that the shooting took place in front of the school before classes began Monday morning. The statement says that the shooter was seen in a red pickup truck. Police officers are still on the scene. Both Auburn's freshman and main campuses, along with the nearby McIntosh Elementary School, are on lockdown. |
