Charles Vance joined the WTVO News Team in April 2009. He came to
Rockford from
Champaign,
Illinois, where he worked as an anchor and reporter for three years. Before that, Charles worked in
Jackson,
Tennessee, as a morning anchor and evening news anchor for several years.
Charles and his wife are excited to call
Rockford home. They are both originally from
Memphis,
Tennessee and although it’s a tad colder than
Tennessee come winter, they love it here. “It’s a unique city with plenty of interesting people and places, and endless stories to tell,” says Charles.
Charles has dedicated himself to telling the stories of everyday people and hopes to continue that here in
Rockford. “From a plant worker who lost his job of 30 years to a nine-year-old working by himself to make his neighborhood safer, I’ve covered hundreds of stories,” says Charles. “All of those stories come with a lesson and for me that’s the best part of this job; you just never stop learning.”
When he’s not at work, you can find Charles and his wife around town checking out one of the many great local restaurants.
