Tuesday, Jun 9, 2009 @09:40am CDT (Taylorville) -- A Decatur man will likely face DUI Charges after he is released from the hospital, for allegedly crashing his motorcycle twice within a matter of minutes early Sunday morning.
The Christian County Sheriff's Department says 22-year-old Cody J. Plopper was found unconscious, trapped under his motorcycle in unincorporated Christian County just after 5 a.m. Sunday. Plopper reportedly missed a curve on the road, went off the road and lost control in a grass field before dumping the bike. Rescue personnel on the scene told police they found a Plopper a short time early five miles south of the crash site, where he had also had an accident. They indicated Plopper told them he "couldn't get a DUI" and sped off on the motorcycle. Plopper was taken to St. John's Hospital in Springfield for treatment of serious injuries suffered in the crash. The report indicates Plopper's blood alcohol content was more than three-times the legal limit when he was admitted to the hospital. (Copyright 2009 by Newsroom Solutions) |
