Joelle Parks - WTVO/FOX 39 Reporter

Joelle Parks was born and raised in Naperville, Illinois and joined the WTVO/WQRF News Team in June 2009 as a general assignment reporter.  As a young girl, her parents told her that when she grew up she needed to have a job where she could tell stories all day long, so pursuing a career as a journalist was an easy decision. Joelle attended The University of Wisconsin and graduated with majors in Journalism and Spanish.

 In college, Joelle began her journalism career as a columnist and editorial board member for a student newspaper.  She also interned for three local radio stations before moving into television where she worked at two stations as an intern and later a reporter.  While in Madison, Joelle covered a variety of topics, including a tragic monster truck accident and a weekly health beat. 

Since Joelle is originally from the Chicago area, she is excited to be working and living in Rockford since it is close to home.  While not at the station, Joelle enjoys traveling, cooking and spending time with family and friends.  She looks forward to becoming involved in the Rockford community and sharing stories that affect people’s everyday lives.
