Reported by: Nicole Kilmer Thursday, Mar 20, 2008 @03:18pm CDT ( The red 1997 is actually... Green. Completely electric. Built in 3 months by professional electrical engineer, Ken Watkins. The batteries should last five years with proper water level maintenance. That's about all the T.L.C. it needs. No oil changes. No antifreeze. No clutch to wear out. Ken liked the challenge of building this and getting away from pricey gas pumps. But he loves not being so dependent on foreign oil. Something fellow drivers seem to share with him on the road. A good idea, and still a quiet one, at a top speed of 75 mph. |
