    Green Gadgets

What do you do with your old gadgets?
I recycle them through an electronics recycling service
I give them away to Goodwill or a friend
     I sell them on eBay/Craigslist
They're gathering dust in the back of my closet
     I throw them away (yikes!)

WTVO/WQRF - Wal-Mart Stores Inc. plans to begin selling a line of Coca-Cola-branded T-shirts that are partially made from recycled plastic bottles.

The shirts, listed at $7.50, will be in about 400 U.S. Wal-Mart stores starting April 14 and online at www.walmart.com. They will come in a variety of sizes and styles and include phrases written across them such "Rehash Your Trash" and "Make Your Plastic Fantastic."

The shirts, called "Drink 2 Wear" apparel, are made from a blend of about half recycled polyethylene terephthalate, commonly marked as PET, and half cotton. Three to five plastic bottles are used to make each shirt, depending on the size.

Last year, Coca-Cola began selling shirts made from recycled plastic at its World of Coca-Cola in downtown Atlanta and online at www.coca-colastore.com.

The Wal-Mart deal, though, is the first time the shirts will hit a mass-market retailer.

Wal-Mart is promoting the shirts as part of its Earth Month program. Coca-Cola plans to run television, radio and print ads for the shirts.

"These fun T-shirts merge trend with consciousness, reminding shoppers that small steps - like recycling a few bottles - can go a long way toward helping to preserve our environment," said Stuart Kronauge, Coca-Cola North America vice president of marketing, in a statement.
