  • Cameras May Help Find Suspects from Halloween Homicides
    Reported by: Joelle Parks

    Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @10:18pm CST

Rockford police are still looking for those responsible for the Halloween homicides, but think they may have some help. The department is hoping their surveillance cameras caught the shootings or the suspects on tape.  There are fourteen cameras on the city's West side, five on the East side.  One of the cameras sits directly across from the house on

    Kilburn Avenue
where the shooting happened early Sunday morning.  Police say they're confident that witnesses at the party know who committed the crime, but say the cameras provide extra assistance

“We have been reviewing cameras that were up in that area and that’s part of the investigation. That may help us link those responsible for this,” says Deputy Chief Greg Lindmark.

There are two sets of cameras in the area, one at the intersection of Kilburn and school and another in the nearby Rockford Housing Authority neighborhood.
