Reported by: Jewell Hillery Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @04:00pm CST (Rockford) -- Rockford area home sales are on the rise.
Local sales rose more than 11% compared to this time last year. 344 condos and homes sold in October 2008, compared to 383 sales this October. Since the beginning of the year, the average home sale price is the highest in 9 months. Local real estate experts, such as Steve Bois, Chief Executive Director of the Rockford Area Realtors Association, say this could mean economic recovery for the real estate market. "These are small percentages that I think are pointing towards the potential of some stability in the market and hopefully, perhaps some recovery," Bois says. Bois also adds that pending transactions are also up. That means home sales this month could rise beyond October numbers. |
