  • Governor Quinn Gives An Update On High Speed Rail
    Reported by: Bob Ryder

    Wednesday, Nov 4, 2009 @05:47pm CST

(Washington, D.C) High speed rail for the Stateline was on the table in Washington today. Illinois Governor Pat Quinn and U.S. Senator Dick Durbin met in Washington to discuss bringing rail to Illinois. The two leaders met with the Illinois Congressional Delegation over lunch. They discussed a variety of topics affecting the State but high speed rail is one of the most critical. Governor Quinn said at a press conference today, "And we really have a team and we have submitted out application. And we'll find out in January as to how we'll do with funding.I'm very optimistic because we have a careful plan. It's been worked on for a decade. And this is a job creator if there was ever one for the Land of Lincoln." Governor Quinn adds he believes the high speed rail line will stretch from Chicago to Saint Louis and then into Kansas City.
