  • Reinke To Olivet

    Monday, Nov 2, 2009 @09:22pm CST

Winnebago, Illinois-ONU head men's basketball coach Ralph Hodge wasted no time in signing his first member to the 2010 recruiting class. The Tigers welcome Brad Reinke, a 6’5” guard from Winnebago, Ill. Reinke has played for the Indians at Winnebago High School the past three years and will finish out his prep career this upcoming season.

Brad has had a fine career thus far, highlighted by their 28-2 overall record in 2008-2009 and 4th place finish in the 2009 IHSA 2A State Basketball Finals. He was also a Unanimous First Team Big Northern All-Conference Selection as a junior averaging 10 points (season high-17), 6 rebounds, and 2.5 assists per game. Brad also played for the Rockford Wildcats this past summer, an AAU team that traveled nationally.

Brad is also on the Track and Field team and participates in the High Jump, jumping as high as 6'2" last season. Notably, Brad is an excellent student, finding himself on the Honor Roll all three years while at Winnebago.

Reinke will be asked to play the off-guard and wing positions. Brad is left-handed and has the ability to shoot the ball with efficiency, get out and score transition, and play above the rim with his athleticism. However, his most valuable asset will be his size combined with his skillset; being that he will cause matchup problems for opponents all over the floor. All of these make Brad a great fit for Tiger Basketball.
