Reported by: Scott Leber Tuesday, Nov 3, 2009 @10:30pm CST Cherry Valley-Last year at this time no bears' fan had ever heard of Johnny Knox. Now the rooie has become quite popular with the fans.
That was evident Tuesday evening when hundreds of fans turned out at the Cherryvale Mall to get Knox's autograph. He was signing at GQ sports. Knox has been a major surprise for the Bears coming out of Abilene Christian College. He was a fifth round draft pick. But right now he's one of the better kick returners in the NFL. He is also third on the Bears in receptions, and he's tied for the team lead with three touchdown catches. "I always had the confidence," said Knox. "I'm surrounded by a great group of leaders and the coaches put me in the right position to do it." "He's been a shocker this year, definitely a sleeper," said fan Chris Cravatta. Tuesday was Knox's 23rd birthday. |
