Reported by: Scott Leber Friday, Nov 6, 2009 @08:15pm CST Naperville, Illinois-Freeport's first venture into the State Soccer Tournament was not a good one. The Pretzels were dominated by Peoria Notre Dame 6-0 Friday morning in Class 2A semifinal action.
The Pretzels surrendered four goals in the first half as Notre Dame controlled the ball. Notre Dame had 15 shots on goal to seven for the Pretzels. Freeport's record is 22-3-4. The Pretzels will be back in action in Naperville at 11 a.m. Saturday in the consolation game against Troy Triad. Triad lost to Arlington Heights St. Viator in the other semifinal game 5-0. |
