Proposed Water Authority for Several Counties

By: Import User
Updated: March 1, 2007
Sycamore, Illinois - Housing developments seem to be popping up everywhere around the region. It`s this growth that`s raising concerns about the possibility of a future water shortage in DeKalb, McHenry and Boone counties. A group with ties to a McHenry County land-use dispute is looking for voter support to approve the creation of a regional authority on groundwater. The Alliance for Land, Agriculture and Water is hoping to get a referendum on the April 17th ballot asking voters to approve the creation of the Kishwaukee Valley Water Authority. The authority would have jurisdiction over DeKalb, McHenry and Boone counties, excluding the areas inside city limits.
