Woodstock- Possible mercy killings are the focus of an investigation into the deaths of at least five residents at a Woodstock nursing home. Illinois State Police began their investigation of the Woodstock Resident Nursing Center nearly four weeks ago. Published reports say that a former employee is being investigated for allegedly delivering fatal doses of morphine to as many as six patients over the last two years. The nursing home`s administrator and co-owner, Alissa Nataupskyhas, released a written statement referring to "unsubstantiated allegations" by "a former disgruntled employee." The statement goes on to say the home has conducted its own internal investigation and does "not believe that any of the allegations have any merit." Although police are not giving any details about their investigation, they say there`s no need to take "extraordinary precautions" with current residents.
