(Greeley, CO) -- The body found Wednesday in a Greeley, Colorado irrigation ditch is that of 12-year-old Kayleah Wilson.
The announcement was made yesterday after dental records were used to confirm the identity of the body found in the Greeley-Loveland Canal.
That's a half-mile from where Wilson lived.
She was last seen March 28th leaving her home for a birthday party.
The local coroner has confirmed that the young girl's death was the result of a homicide, however details on the exact cause of death have not been released.
Greeley Police Chief Jerry Garner says now that the mystery of what happened to Kayleah has been solved, every effort will be made to track down her killer and see that justice is served.
