(Washington, DC) -- Businessman Herman Cain says he would support Israel attacking Iran in the event of a nuclear attack if Israel has a credible plan.
At the latest GOP presidential debate being held in Washington, DC, Congressman Ron Paul says he does not expect Iran to launch a nuclear attack on Israel.
He says Israel does not need help from the U.S., adding that America needs to get out of Israel's way if it finds the need to launch an attack.
Paul says Israel is capable of taking care of itself.
Cain says it is the best interests of the U.S. to stop Iran from filling a power vacuum in the region left behind by the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.
Texas Governor Rick Perry says the U.S. needs to use every sanction it has available to shut down Iran's finances.
Perry says "we need to sanction the Iranian central bank." Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich says we can replace Iranian oil with home grown energy sources.
Gingrich says regime change is needed in Iran with a minimum of military force.
He says sabotaging Iran's only refinery would be good place to start bringing Iran down.
Minnesota Congresswoman Michele Bachmann pointed out Iran has already stated its intention to attack Israel if they have a nuclear weapon.
