Bears WR Sam Hurd Arrested On Drug Charges

(Chicago) -- Chicago Bears wide receiver Sam Hurd has been arrested on drug charges.

Hurd was taken into custody last night after allegedly trying to buy drugs from a Dallas-area supplier.

He's expected to appear in federal court in Chicago this afternoon.

Hurd has appeared in 12 games with Chicago, catching eight passes for 109 years.

He'd previously played for the Dallas Cowboys from 2006 to 2010.

A Bears spokesperson says the team knows what happened and are investigating.
