Tornadoes Rip Through America's Heartland, Slam Harrisburg

(Harrisburg, IL) -- Search and rescue operations are under way in Harrisburg, Illinois, after a tornado swept through the area.

There are unconfirmed reports of at least three deaths.

The "Daily Register" newspaper in Harrisburg is reporting heavy damage to the city.

There's also a death being reported in Branson, Missouri, from the storms.

The system is slowly moving to the east.

Tornado watches are in effect for an area stretching from southern Ohio through Kentucky and Tennessee to northeastern Arkansas.
