Construction is almost complete on the first part of the renovated riverwalk project. Today aldermen approved an engineering agreement that will create a concept design for the riverwalk's second phase.

The concept design will outline riverwalk construction from Beattie Park to State Street Bridge. The agreement will not exceed $20,900. The city will receive the revenue to pay for the concept design project from sales tax.

Rockford City leaders hope to interview downtown residents and business owners to get their opinion on what they feel the next phase of riverwalk construction should look like.
