State Home Foreclosure Rate Up

For every 325 houses in Illinois, one of them is either foreclosed on, defaulted, auctioned off, or repossessed, which is bad enough to be the 5th worst rate in the country.

More than 16,000 homes fell victim last month, 30% more than April and more than 50% more compared to this time last year.

Only Georgia, Arizona, Nevada, and California have higher foreclosure rates.
