The plane touched down around 8:00AM at the Rockford International Airport. Rockford Airport officials say they were notified on Friday about the international layover.

Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan was greeted by the US Turkish ambassador from Washington D.C., Namik Tan and representatives from the Chicago Consulate. For the hour that the Prime Minister and his delegation were at the airport they snacked on coffee, tea, water and pastries.

Airport officials say the entire refueling went very smooth. The prime minister and nearly 40 Turkish government officials are headed to Cabo San Lucas to attend the G20 Summit.

RFD Airport Director Mike Dunn said "It was a wonderful opportunity to showcase the airport to such a distinguished guest and delegation from Turkey. It also was a great opportunity to host several executives from Turkish Airlines in Chicago."

The departed at 8:55 A.M. to Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.
