White Sox Acquire Youkilis 6/24/12

White Sox acquire Kevin Youkilis from Boston.

The Chicago White Sox took a major step toward filling their hole at third base, and it seems they won't have to spend much money doing it.

Chicago acquired Youkilisa and cash considerations from the Boston Red Sox this afternoon for outfielder Brent Lillibridge and relief pitcher Zack Stewart. Youkilis, 33 years old, has struggled a bit this season (.225 BA, 4 HR, 13 RBI), but has had a successful nine year career in Boston.

In addition, multiple outlets are reporting that the Red Sox will pick up a large portion of the money owed to Youkilis this season. He should provide a low-risk pickup who has a history of winning.
