Hughes Announces Candidacy for Rockford Mayor

Winnebago County Director of Development Services John Hughes officially announced today that he plans to run for the mayor of Rockford.

 

Hughes is a Democrat and he'll face Mayor Larry Morrissey. Morrissey is an independent.

 

Hughes says if elected he will hire more police officers.  As of today, no Republican has filed for the race.
