Rockford police, the Winnebago County Sheriff's Department ,and the Illinois State Police will put more officers on the streets in the coming days.
The goal is to crackdown on drunk drivers, speeding, and distracted drivers.
Statistcally the Fourth of July is one of the most dangerous days of the year for drivers.
Last Fourth of July,13 people were killed in car accidents across the state.

Comments

Yeah, make sure you harass drivers. Don't bother to go arrest the savages on the west side who can't stop shooting each other. Way to prioritize, Rockford police.
