Pilot in Ogle County Crash Identified

Seventy-seven year old Thomas Plodzien, from Monee, was flying his small airplane from Dekalb to Rockford when a fire broke out onboard.
He tried to make it to RFD, but instead crashed in a corn field near I-39 and Highway 72.
Plodzien was the owner of the airplane.
